XXVI Annual Meeting

Dear Friends,

The XXVI Annual Meeting will be held as scheduled on 18 -20 January, 2001 (Thu-Fri-Sat).. As always, the first two of these days will be devoted to the discussion of the theme for the year:

" Universal Access to Health Care through Insurance : Problems and Alternatives."

We will begin with this at 10 am on 18th Jan. and work through to 19th evening. A detailed structure for the discussions will be posted shortly.

As usual, there will be informal sharing sessions in the evenings, when friends can talk about their work / personal experiences.

A formal circular about the annual general body meet scheduled for the 20th is attached overleaf for which all are invited to stay on. We plan to close the meet by lunch on 20th.

I personally apologise for the delay in this formal announcement, caused mainly by preoccupation with PHA-related travel, However, since the last two bulletins had carried the announcement of the meet. I trust you all are aware of the dates already.

XXVI Annual General Body Meeting January 20,2001.

Medico Friend Circle.

The XXVI Annual General Body Meeting of the organization for the year 2000-2001 will be held at Yatri Nivas, Sevagram 442102, District Wardha, Maharashtra, on Saturday, 20th January 2001, at 9.00 am.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows :

* Discuss the conceptual note on editorial guidelines for the bulletin and other MFC Publications prepared by Padma Prakash and published in the Bulletin, No 276-277

( Sept-Oct 2000).

* Review the People's Health Assembly process so far, and MFC's current and future participation in the process. Members who have been actively participating in the process at various levels can share news and views.

* Review the experience / problems related to the e-forum and website.

* Review the experience of cells over the last year.

* Decide on the dates and theme for the next theme meet: 2002, Fix dates for the mid-annual-meet.

* Review the experience of the new editorial team of the Bulletin, and problems related to it.

* Review the sales / distribution/ Stock of the Depo-Provera Book, and need for reprinting.

* Election of new EC members.

* Presentation and passing of financial accounts for the year 1999-2000.

* Review of current financial position.

* Any other agenda, preferably with prior consent.

All members are requested to make it convenient to be present at the meeting.
